*Bank Holidays Opening Hours*
Please note that we will be open 10am-2pm on both of the Bank Holidays
in May.

*Part-Time Vacancy*
YAC is currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join
the team for general retail duties on Thursdays & Saturdays.

extra hours may be required during the busy Summer season.

*CEMEX Day Ticket Report*

Yateley South Lake mirror carp at 24lb+South Lake-following extensive
work by the Cemex Angling fishery management team over the Winter, the
South Lake is fishing extremely well, regular producing multiple
catches. Lots of 20lbers, lots of smiling anglers, but worth pointing
out that the South is quickly becoming as popular as Sandhurst, so
booking ahead is strongly advised, particularly for weekends.

North Lake-results vary, but plenty of chances if prepared to be
mobile-day sessions stalking are proving to be productive. Even our very
own "Kingy" landed one the other night-nice 20lb common came as a bit of
a shock for Martin, who is used to blanking merrily on the Car Park Lake.

Sandhurst Lake-the jewel in the Yateley day ticket trio continues to
fulfill anglers dreams by the day, with the big girls all making regular
appearances over the last few weeks. The successful winter bait approach
of maggots is now starting to die off, with better catches coming over
particles and pellets.

Please call 01252 861 955 / 01252 873 123 for bookings and availability.

*Etang Des Royales*

Despite the poor weather during the first few weeks of April, things
have really started to hot up at Etang des Royales, with carp to 50lb+.
There is now only one week left on the big lake in 2008 (30 Aug-6 Sept),
however spaces are still available for 2009.

YAC Team member "Kingy" is currently bouncing up and down with
excitement as his first trip to Royales is only days away now - details
of his adventure will be in the next YAC newsletter.

It is also be worth noting that the plan to remove the Catfish from the
big lake to allow the carp to prosper means the small lake now contains
a good head of Cats up to 100lb+ and can be hired separately.Etang Des
Royales DVD <http://www.yateleyangling.co.uk/description.phtml?II=3894&UID=>

*The Fantauzzi Files*

*Line Management*

Steve FantauzziWith the joys of Spring and Summer angling before us, it
is time to ensure that your essential connection with the fish is
renewed. Line that has been sat on spools since last season could easily
let you down just at that vital moment. Whether you opt for standard
mono, prefer braid or the technical edge of fluorocarbon, the job of
stripping off your reels and re-loading no longer needs to be a great
chore, with thanks to a few handy gadgets that I use.

The Berkley Line Stripper tools make light work of the tedious task of
removing old line from your reels.
The original model takes 2 x AA batteries and strips line off in
minutes, depositing it in a neat and tidy bundle for you to collect up.

The latest TEC version of the same tool requires 4 x AA batteries and
does the same job, only 15% faster-around 150yds per minute-and the
improved design offers more comfort during heavy use, fitting your hand
perfectly for a secure grip.

Both models also feature a neat little rotating hook sharpener.
NB:Please take a few more minutes to help protect wildlife and cut your
discarded line into pieces before disposal.

The Rapala Line Counter comes with a lighted display and measures line
as it passes through the counter in feet. It can be attached to your rod
securely with a lock switch which holds the line in place. Particularly
useful when trying to share that expensive spool of braid over 3
reels!Rapala Line Counter

However, I have discovered that this handy piece of kit is more than
just a counter for just putting line on your reels! I've been using it
to mark out all my spots on the lake. Upon arriving at the swim, cast
your marker out and once you have found your favoured area, simply
attach the counter retrieve the marker back. Make a note of the distance
recorded on the counter and when it comes to fishing that swim, attach
the counter to your rod, pull off the required length, clip up and you
should be back on exactly the same spot.
